Anyone know of any good resources here or elsewhere on understanding comma use in Chinese? Not talking about the "enumeration comma" 顿号 ( ' 、' )which seems easy enough, but the normal comma, aka 逗号 (','). These things are killing whatever reading comprehension I thought I had. Or maybe my reading comprehension is not great in the first place, but I'd like to see if anyone else can identify with me on this and help with a recommendation. Gracias.
I think the rule is that you put them everywhere you are supposed to in English, then randomly add some more where you would pause in natural speech. Finally, swap out some periods for extra commas just for good measure.
This is entirely correct, though you left out the rule about always leaving out or deleting commas where they might be helpful.

ok, ok, but what are the rules if it's the *third* Tuesday of the month?
