Does anyone know of some audio material out there of some 老外 CSL gurus showing off spoken Chinese mastery? I will admit I have some doubts about ever truly mastering the verbal component of the language. Any poscasts where David and/or Brenden unleash a storm of fierce Mandarin Kung Fu? I'm not trying to challenge anyone but comprehension aside, I can't say I have ever really experienced a true CSL 老外 show off their mastery of the spoken art.

I only know of Dashan (大山, Mark Rowswell), who's very popular in the foreigner community (as well as the Chinese). You should be able to find plenty of things on youku with him speaking mandarin.

I would also be very interested in learning some others as well, or getting some references to existing podcasts like dragonfly stated above.

Thanks!

A few weeks ago I was trying to get Brendon and David to star in one of the dialogs. Hopefully it will happen.

There are plenty of foriegners who speak fluent Mandarin in and outsid of China, however they are still a relative oddity compared to the number of Chinese that speak fluent English.

Obtaining fluency in Chinese as a native English speaker is no harder than a native Chinese obtaining fluency in English. There is nothing magical or mysterious about Chinese, it's just a language (albeit an awesome language).

I agree with the first two paragraphs, but the final paragraph is lacking the fact that you either have to be raised by Chinese parents or live in China to become truly fluent in Chinese (in my opinion of course), which draws a stark contrast to English where you can live in Europe, USA, Canada, etc. and still master the language. This is a major reason why it makes it significantly more difficult to become fluent.
