Customer service had ground to a halt, at least temporarily. "It's so good," Echo was still moaning, dreams of milk chocolate rivers bubbling up through her subconscious. some of the terms are not annotated correctly on the answers page or are missing the english translation...also it would be nice for the answers to be annotated as well, 感谢 =）

@nadasax - the test questions (and answers) aren't annotated for the tests for hopefully obvious reasons, although we do check the traditional and pinyin forms so that people can select their preferred display format.

Between this and the issue with apostrophes, it sounds as if there is something really strange going on in your browser support for javascript -- as soon as the page loads javascript should disable the function that provides the popups. I still need to look into the issue that you're having with Internet Explorer, but it sounds like this might be related. If you can invoke a popup after the page loads that is definitely not supposed to be happening and a sign that javascript is behaving strangely.

not on the test page...on the answers page...on the answers page the questions are annotated...scrolling the mouse over the questions on the answers page gives you pinyin and english translation...except sometimes on the answers page the english translation is incorrect or only shows the pinyin...its the same yellow-block highlited annotation that occurs on the Tools page news area...along with the annotation of the questions it would be nice to have the answers annotated as well...

the issue with the apostrophes is not in the pdf or the text-only downloads...its with the "show translation" enabled english translation on the "text" page reached with the buttons located at the top of the page...like how at the top of this page you can see "discussion" and "quiz"...also, moving the mouse over the hanzi on the "text" page produces yellow-block annotation as well but only in hanzi...

@nadasax - I didn't think of the answers page. That's a valid use of them and I think we can definitely go through our archive of tests and correct the english in that case.

It sounds like this apostrophe issue is an IE thing on Vista - it will take some time to test and debug it. In the meantime have you tried in Firefox on the same platform?

As far as the popups go -- you should be able to control what content is displayed in them by changing your preferences on the vocabulary page. Changing your settings there will affect the popups sitewide and also the default options for the dictionary. In the same way, opting in or out of viewing pinyin/english on the text page will change your default PDF/transcript options. We're aiming to quietly customize those sorts of things according to the preferences people express elsewhere.

the check-boxes all work fine on the text and vocabulary page...i'll see about the apostrophes...its not so much a major issue for me as something to let you guys know about...cool...anyway...thanks
