This week, we transition from 1980s Beijing rock to contemporary Taiwanese pop with this song by megastar Jolin. When facing such an onslaught of infectiously upbeat mandopop, we drop our weapons and surrender. And with a gender-ambiguous third party pronoun, there's no reason not to drop your inhibitions and sing along too.

In addition to having such a talented and hard-working singer, this piece was composed by Jolin's ex-boyfriend Jay Chow, another Taiwanese music legend. Enjoy!

秋天--the most beautiful season in Beijing. Let's go and fall in love.

ha ha.... I have a love/hate relationship with this song. Will reciprocate by sharing the following, which was once stuck in my head for an entire weekend. Watch at your peril:

Dont know whether you're targetting mobile learning, but the lesson video doesn't show up on the iPhone but the one orbital embedded does.

@weijin - interesting. Have heard that flash support is pretty sketchy on the iPhone, but it's strange to have videos selectively appear/disappear. Maybe the method of embedding them is different.

Will take a look and see what the difference is anyway. Obviously aiming to make the site accessible across a wide range of browsers and devices.

I'm still a fan of Jolin's but I really prefer her pre-fingernail days (look carefully at current videos if you don't know what I mean)--Love, love, love, 36 tips, that sort of thing,

I'm no expert on Janet Jackson (I think I've seen a short part of one video), but it seems to me that Jolin is the Janet Jackson of the Beijing set. Yes? No?

Good comparison Sandra, although I think Jolin is down in Taiwan. Not sure if Beijing has anyone like her....

Both these songs suck. Manufactured cheese. I just love the way record labels keep churning out crap. This is why people download illegally, because the music is not worth paying for.

@mfap - some people don't like mandopop, some people don't like rock. Chacon son gout. If you have suggestions about artists you'd like to see covered though, send us a ping.

无论如何,Jolin是一个非常努力的歌手,不是只靠漂亮的外表的那种偶像明星,我欣赏她这一点。
