It would be great if we could launch flashcards in groups of say...20, instead of having to look at the whole lot together. I find it much easier to learn new characters by looking at them frequently in a short space of time.

Maybe I'm not using the vocab/flashcards correctly but it seems to me that if I go the HSK vocab and launch the cards I have to cycle through every single one before I see the ones I got wrong first time round. I know those I get wrong get added to my vocab list but there again i have to go through my entire list. Sometimes I just want to sit down and learn some new characters (yes, I'm that cool) and not review previously studied stuff.

Hmm, I'm not sure I've explained too clearly what I mean/want. Any thoughts, anyone? I find the HSK practice tests really helpful but I never really use the vocab/flashcards because I don't feel I get that much out of it.

@Tristan,

I think this is a good idea, but am not sure how to implement it so would welcome specific suggestions. Right now the best someone can do to add words in fits and starts is to manually add them from the HSK vocabulary lists.

The problem is figuring out what words people know. Perhaps we should have a more systematic way for people to say they want to learn all of the vocabulary over X months. Then we could adjust the amount of vocabulary they're presented with daily/weekly/monthly based on their targets.

Again, I'd welcome specific suggestions of solutions people would like to have us implement. :)

Hi David,

I see what you mean. Any chance you could add a function on the HSK and MY Vocab pages which would let you launch selected flashcards? If I just add the HSK words I don't know to My Vocab, I still have to go through all the words on my list instead of just studying the new ones.

On the vocab page, can you put selection boxes to the right? In visual basic there is a type of setting for boxes where you can click and drag over the boxes, and whatever you touch turns on. It's not systematic, but it allows the user to flexibly select a short stack of words.

Hey Eric,

We don't use visual basic, but multi-select for the vocabulary would be a very nice feature to have. I'd like to get it implemented for the next version of our site. We're aiming to get that released before September next year, so probably sometime in July or early August.

Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I think it would be helpful to add vocabulary list in every HSK exercises like you do it in the ordinary lessons and also do it possible to launch flashcards with it. First of all the HSK lessons are already devided into different levels so it would be easy to find out what words are unknown for the people of specific level. If a person did the test then learnt vacabulary from it like about 10-20 new words it would be more effective than when you open that huge HSK vocabulary list and just don't know from what to start because some words you already know and some not. Just feel rather confused.
