Hi All,
I've been working on a iPhone app to help me study Chinese and I would like everyone's help.
Right now the App is fairly small, it only offers lessons from Beginner to Advanced and is primarily an interface to Popup Chinese's content. Like Apple's Podcast app, it lets people listen to, stream, and download Popup Chinese lessons. But for subscribing users, it also lets them:
-Read transcript of the lesson
-Quickly switch between the podcast lesson and the dialogue only audio files
-Create playlists of lessons currently studying
-View the vocabulary lists for each lesson
The current version is still very much in beta, but I hope to have it released within the next several weeks.
But its my goal to make this so much larger. I want dictionaries, flash cards, and lesson quizes, KTV-Wednesday videos with subtitles. Sharable playlists with category tags. Perhaps even including Popup Cantonese. Android, Windows Phone, web apps!
Before all that, I want to hear what you want in an app.
If you could have a Popup Chinese app, what do you feel are the things it absolutely must have?
If you could have any app made to help you learn Chinese, what would it do?
There are already many apps out there for learning Chinese. What would you change about them? What do you love about them?
Thanks to everyone and I hope to hear your thoughts!
-Mark

Mark,I just wrote a very long message, but Popup Chinese ate it. My ideal app is 321 Chinese for Windows Phone, because I wrote it. I think www.321chinese.com lists all the features in one way or another.Good luck (加油)!

Iouri,Of all the people to have randomly met at a coffee shop this evening, its pretty crazy it was you. Thanks for sharing your app. I promise I won't blatantly it off. ;)
And I'll hold off the iOS port. I can't help thinking there's some special meaning in us running into one another. Let's at least keep in touch. You can reach me at hotmail.com with the same account name as here.
