Hey everyone,
I like the short stories. They'll really help my chinese, but I was wondering where their exact translation would be? I can probably guess it... but I don't want to misunderstand.
Thank you.
Hi a6297344,
We don't do literal translations for the short stories because we hope they're mostly unnecessary. Where there are particularly thorny lines we'll typically add a sentence-level translation in the notes field for one of the words in the sentence. Between that and the fact that all of the popup annotations are manually created with contextual definitions for this-exact-word-in-this-exact-story, we hope the meaning comes through.

If you haven't enabled the notes field in your popups, you can do so on this page. You can also edit your account name as well. Our main goal with the registration hurdle is to keep spammers out, not spam people ourselves.
best,

Hi a6297344, I also like the short stories, which are integrating learning with play(寓教于乐)! When I find the notes not providing enough explanation for me, I'll then switch to a dictionary.
