I just heard the podcast... Good stuff :).. Just want to give my 2毛 on this one: I just read Tim Ferriss' "The 4 hour Body" last month, and basically since then have eaten almost no rice/bread/noodles (the diet allows you to pig out on anything on 周六, which is fun).. and the results have been pretty startling. That saturday pigout, might be a brilliant key to whole diet, it stops your body from going into 'hibernation mode', which would crank down your metabolic rate.
I always worked out, and always had that pudge, because I would partake in pizza/pasta/chinese food/sushi. I'm loving the new diet, and getting more and more 自恋every week ;)..

好久不见了，还记得maxiewawa同学吗！！！I have, just finished my second week of a Postgrad Diploma in Translating and Interpreting. Chinese / English of course.So I'll be back here listening and commenting regularly until I can memorise entire podcasts worth of material effortlessly and repeat them verbatim in English, at which point I'll be getting a job as a UN interpreter. Well that's the idea anyway!

We try a lot of different things at the advanced level and are still working out what works best. Goal is mostly to showcase different kinds of speech and give people materials for listening practice. Suggestions on the sorts of materials you'd like at the advanced level (or others) are always welcome.

Hi Dave thanks for the reply. I appreciate your team's creative approach (no irony defeciency at popup) and your efforts. I wonder if other subscribers would like annotated characters of the PDFs? Its not hard to do. The site mandarin-spot.com is great for that.

Bill,If you're looking for annotation support, I'd suggest using our chinese converter. You can copy and paste Chinese text in there and get the results back in popup form. The backend dictionary is over 200,000 entries and improves constantly as we create and add lesson materials.We also have a Chinese dictionary plugin for Firefox that will add popups to any webpage. It's pretty useful for surfing other websites, and will help you avoid the need to actually look words up in a dictionary. Also useful for translating since you can add words by highlighting them too.Not sure if you're suggesting we add annotation functionality into the PDFs themselves. If you have specific examples of the sort of thing you would find useful there let me know.Best,--david

Love these lessons where all the conversation is in Chinese. Much prefer this to the ones where it's some English, some Chinese. Just my two cents! :-)

But I dislike that when i play the audio, i can't skip to a later time and have to restart from the beginning.

We're still around, yup. And you should be able skip to any time in the recording that you want, jazen. The javascript audio player should have a drag-and-drop seek feature. It definitely does in Safari and Firefox. Not sure about other browsers.....
