The girl band S.H.E. has been noticeably absent from KTV Wednesday to date. The Taiwanese group takes its name from the leading initials of its three founding singers: Selina Ren, Hebe Tian and Ella Chen, all of whom have been fixtures of the Taiwan pop scene since the start of the decade. Superstar, our selection for today, was the first rock anthem produced by the group, and a smash hit in its own right. The song is incredibly popular in Asia, and we think it deserves to be. The lyrics are upbeat and the music is focused and driven. It's the perfect song to put on your MP3 player for all those workouts at the gym. We hope you enjoy it.

Really fun song. Used to be overplayed a bit, but I haven't heard it in a while so it's nice to listen again.

Thank you!!! Love the song, love the band, and have long wished for just this kind of help in learning the lyrics to pop songs. KTV Wednesday remains my favorite part of Popup Chinese!

Come on Frank, we all know it's more the band than the song with this one.... :)

There's no doubt that I'm harboring a crush on Hebe Tian. I mean, I have eyes and a soul, don't I?

@Frank - was going to accuse you of blindness for your Hebe crush when Selena is clearly the heart and soul of the band. So I hit Google Images to dredge up some comparison photos and decided you might be right after all.

Marco, if you want to have your crush on Selena, that's perfectly fine with me. You'd just be one less person I have to eliminate to get to my destiny! :-P
