Film Friday returns this afternoon with a longer clip from a Hollywood movie that you've almost certainly seen, but that Echo hadn't by the time we recorded this show. After hearing vague mention of the general theme, she promptly cleared her schedule and declared a Popup film night that evening, and the results did not disappoint. Such a great film - well written, well acted and an engaging plot. But the guy dubbing the main actor's role has a voice that is so wrong for the part. Instead of world weary and tough, he sounds like a 15 year old kid.

I'm afraid I have to protest the assertion of the guy dubbing the leading actor's voice sounding like a 15 year old kid.

I agree that the voice actor doesn't carry the necessary world weariness or toughness in a bad guy sense, but what he did bring was too much of a straight-laced, sqare jawed leading man sound. What threw me off at first was that he sounded like a cop. So my mind immediately went to cop movie. To make matters worse he references a past 谋杀案. Brendan said, "FAMOUS actor", so I immediately thought, Lethal Weapon and Mel Gibson.

But, due to one clue I had a sudden epiphany and pieced together that it was, in fact NOT lethal weapon, but another 80's movie.

Gee, hope I didn't somehow unwittingly divulge the secret to this week's podcast...
