It was only now as he lay on his deathbed that the old man knew the cruel truth in the form of a pained regret for a lifetime of deeds left undone....

This is the saddest story I've ever heard. Maybe the father did deserve to go with regret, but by realizing he made a terrible mistake in life, is he not redeemed in the end?

I vow to learn from the moral of this great lesson, and to go forth in life with my primary goal being to make a positive difference in this world, and above all, knowing that in the end, I have given my all to 泡泡中文, whatever that means.

我刚才给你发了一封电子邮件。By the way, do I need to put 了 after the verb 发 in that sentance?
