The emphasis of our sample HSK test today is on measuring your grasp of Chinese adverbs and verbs. If you have a good grounding in Chinese grammar you'll find these a lot easier than people who learn more conversationally. Overconfidence is the name of my game on this one. I thought I'd done a whole lot better than 8/15. Looking back though I can see clearly where I went wrong. Some of these I should have known better....

A respectable showing: 9/15.
I could see why a lot of my answers were wrong in retrospect. Why can't we pick 有 in question 7 though? I thought we could use that word to compare between two objects?

You can't use 有 to express sth is better or worse than the other.Although you can use sentences like "他有小王那么高吗？"(Is he as tall as Xiao Wang?" )， "他没小王高"(He's not as tall as Xiao Wang."),“他有小王那么高”(He's as tall as Xiao Wang.").
