Re the movie, for me it was the last line of the excerpt that actually triggered what the movie was. Though in the following conversation, you certainly gave plenty of big clues ;-)

I actually did think of that comic the other day when I was filling out a name-change form at the bank, but unfortunately the better part of my nature prevailed. Much as I do love the lulz, I'm not about to risk losing all 26 mao in my bank account for an XKCD reference.

Haha this is a great idea! Actually my friend and I do this all the time for fun, i.e. we translate lines from famous movies into Chinese and the other person has to guess what movie we're quoting. Somehow I actually got this one right away, after the end of that first clip anyway! And it was no "small" feat. ;)
