We've had a few complaints from those of you who consider it unreasonable for us to ask you to login afresh every time you restart your browser.

It is pretty unreasonable. And inconvenient.

So we've just fixed it. Right now once you login you should stay logged in for a week. So heads up, and be sure to logout after each session if you like using public Internet terminals and worry about this sort of thing.

Perhaps your browser is set to clear all of its cookies automatically when closed....

Tools -> Options -> Privacy

I have the same problem using Firefox. I get logged out even if I haven't closed the browser, it happens whenever I haven't refreshed it for some time.

Me too. I can close the browser and open it again and I'll still be logged in. But if I leave the browser open and it is inactive for a long time I seem to get logged out. Hope this helps.

I think it's really fixed this time. Or fixed so that sessions expire once a week instead of every hour. So this auto-logging out nonsense should stop.

If it doesn't work for you please let us know, and we'll bring in the exorcist.
