Hi, I'm considering PopUp Chinese to be my language content and services vendor over ChinesePod (current). However, have a couple of questions relating to Anki:

1) How do I access vocab from other lessons aside from The Dumb Illiterate Judge? Is this a subscription ugrade?

2) When I export the vocab on PopUp Chinese, the pinyin is in the format wu2liao2 rather than with accent marks which I prefer. Can that be changed?

Thanks,

Plato

Hi Plato (user20758),

Thanks for checking us out. Just to answer your questions:

(1) The transcript, vocab and quiz pages are premium content, so - yes - you'd need a premium subscription to access them.

(2) Pinyin is in tonal rather than numeric format. I suppose we could introduce controls that let people choose which they prefer the meantime, but we don't have a way for people to do that now.

(3) To export vocabulary lists directly from lessons, just click the export button on the vocab page. You can also add the vocab to your vocabulary list and then edit, mix and export from there, or just use the flashcards on our site, which are also spaced-repetition enabled. Only tricky thing to note is that the Chinese text is encoded in UTF-8 so you may need to manually specify the encoding in older versions of Excel if you plan to use it to manipulate the file.

Best,
