I've been browsing around, and I love what I see. I'm definitely considering subscribing :)
Just wondering though, in the premium subscription, what exactly is the HSK study centre? Does it refer to the HSK lessons you post, ie. HSK Intermediate: Reading Passage Exercise #1?
Also, I read an article somewhere that ChineseClass101 and Popup Chinese were somehow linked/affiliated... Can I ask how (if you are linked, that is)? Just curious! :D
Hi riaishappy - our HSK test center refers to the "review tests" page under the premium menu tab. If you take any of our HSK tests online, our system will automatically remember the questions you answer incorrectly. The review page will shuffle through these at random.
This is designed as a time-saver for reviewing and reinforcing the HSK materials: a sort of test-level equivalent to the SRS features we've rolled into the vocabulary lists and flashcards. Since the vast majority of the tests we have online are HSK tests, the name stuck. Taken together with the HSK lists and flashcards, it's a pretty effective way to prepare for the exam.
And yes - we're partners on the CC101 site together with Innovative Languages. The CC101 materials follow the Innovative lesson format and are pretty different from the stuff that goes online here. You should notice some crossover in the podcasting crew on the two sites though. Popup Chinese is definitely a bit more experimental and less mainstrain in terms of the materials we put up, and also more experimental on the technical side, since we have full control over the technical platform. Conversely though, CC101 is much more focused on absolute beginners and guiding people in their first steps into mandarin.
