Free users still have a personal RSS feed that can be used to automatically download files. The URL of this feed depends on one's username, so for agerhbour your address would be:
http://popupchinese.com/feeds/custom/agerhbour
The free feed is limited to fifteen lessons at a time, but is customized with the lessons people have in their accounts. It is possible to download fifteen lessons, delete them from your queue and have the next fifteen show up automatically. Not quite as convenient as actually subscribing and downloading everything at once, but not bad.
We're open to better ways of accomplishing this. Right now emphasizing the public rather than personal feeds in the signup process has the benefit of signalling to Apple that people are listening to our main feed and encouraging them to give us greater visibility in the podcast directory. Perhaps the solution is to include information in the main feed about how to get the rest of the materials.
