trevelyan, thanks for being on top of these things....right now the popups seem to be working. I'm in in a bad part of Shenyang (what?! as opposed to the good part?) as far as internet service is concerned. Friends have told me the net provider is very flaky and drops in and out within seconds. This may well have something to do with the problem.....in other words, don't lose sleep over it. Thanks again
