The progress bar just measures your progress through the vocabulary that loads.

The way the backend works is that our server tags your vocab in tranches. When you have materials to study, all of the words you need to review will load by default. Answer a word correctly and it gets shoved into a higher "tranche" and won't reappear for a while.

I think I can see the issue though -- if there is no content you are "supposed" to study, we randomly pull words from your wordlist. The design goal here is to make sure that someone who wants to work through materials will always have something to do. Perhaps we should add a note or something to the sidebar when people don't *need* to review their vocabulary according to the SRS schedule.
