You can always click on the "expand" graphic on the News in Chinese page to display the entire article rather than the teaser. For other content, I'd recommend the intermediate and advanced HSK materials for getting an objective sense of how good your Chinese actually is (especially vis-a-vis the fine points in grammar and vocabulary -- most students overrate their abilities here)

Our collection of manually annotated Chinese short stories may also be of interest. Practically speaking, if you can read Dream of the Red Chamber without a dictionary, you probably don't need much in the way of support.
