Ah, user error on top of a technical glitch! I did not realize I needed to hit "A" on the keyboard (is that explained somewhere? I thought hitting the "add" button on the popup itself was how to do it). Hitting "A" still did not work until I deleted and reinstalled the plugin, but now it seems to work fine.
