Hi -I have recently found Downcast as a very good podcast player on my iPod (I like it much more than the Apple app that is automatic with iOS 6.X). However, it only allows me to download from the most recent 200 Popup Chinese podcast episodes. The Downcast support folks said that this number was determined by the podcast creators. Is there a way to increase this number? Downcast at least will grab up to 1,000 podcast episodes, up to the limit set by the creators of the podcast. There is a way for me to download them manually and then import them but it is definitely more tedious. Thanks!~Doug
Doug,It sounds like you're using the public feed instead of your private feed. The private feed doesn't have any limit. If you visit this page while logged-in it should help you:http://popupchinese.com/account/setup_itunesIf you still have problems send us an email and we can help you get everything sorted out.Best,--david
Hi, David -Thanks for the message. I didn't see on that page where it gave specific directions for setting up the private feed, and somewhere I'm still not doing something to make it work. When I go into iTunes under Podcasts, I am subscribed to Popup Chinese there, and I can see all the podcast episodes and download them. I can even go into my iPod and under Podcasts, select the ones I've downloaded. But I don't know how that links up with the Downcast app - when I go into that app the newly downloaded podcast episode doesn't show up, even after refreshing the feed. So I'm not sure what to try next.(I know you said to e-mail you but I thought it would be useful to reply here in case others are having a similar issue.)~Doug
same case here... only 200 episodes. i also tried looking for the private feed on the link shared by travelyan but i didnt find anything....or do i need to upgrade i order to use the complete feed?btw im in android not iphone
@prog_frog,It sounds like Downcast is setup to use the public feed instead of your private feed. I'd suggest deleting your current feed and resubscribing with your private feed URL, which is available on the download podcasts page. Alternately, if you write me I can generate a separate downloadable archive of all of your MP3 and PDF files for you to install manually.@fcantusaldivar,Yes, you need a premium subscription to download everything using your private feed. The public feed is restricted partly to encourage people to help support us, and partly because Apple had trouble handling our feed once it grew beyond several hundred shows. And - no - Android is no problem. It's just a matter of downloading the shows and then installing them.
