Hello, I'm an elementary-level learner, and am relatively new to this site. I've started to peruse the podcasts, and I find your approach to be highly engaging and a great supplement to my (gradually-building) self-directed study program. Would I be out of luck in hoping that you have traditional-character versions of transcripts, vocab lists, etc. tucked in this site somewhere a click away (instead of simplified-character ones)? Or at least some sort of dual reference somewhere for characters that have been simplified? The existence of such a resource on your site would seal the deal as far as my upgrading my subscription; without this, I pause in deciding to upgrade, since in selecting my other sources I have begun targeting traditional characters as much as possible, and want to avoid mixing too much, at least while I am at a beginner stage.

(for background: My initial contact with the Chinese-speaking world has been through visiting Taiwan, but beyond that, I simply find traditional characters more interesting/fascinating, and also figure that it would be easier to learn traditional ones first and then afterward gain a familiarity with the simplified versions, rather than the reverse - any thoughts on this?)

Thanks!

Hi Amateur,

Yes, we are fanti-positive here. Just click on your name (top-right corner) and then click on account settings. Change your display preferences on the following page and they'll change site-wide, as well as in your transcripts. Give it a shot and let us know if you have any problems.

Also -- yes -- it's easier to go from traditional to simplified so it's not a bad strategy if you want to know both.
