I'm reading a book of Chinese fairy tales and ran across these two sentences:

把她抱起来，摩挲这孩子的皮肤

当天晚上，无数船只遇难。

1) Could someone advise me on the pronunciation of 摩挲 here? My dictionary offers mo2suo1, mo2sa1 and ma1sa5 as possibilities.

2) 无数船只遇难。Countless ships were sunk? (had an accident)
