If someone points at a banana and says 给我剥一个，is 剥 pronounced bao1 or bo1?
@murrayjames,It's bao1. The character will only be pronounced as bo1 when it's in a more formal word, like 剥离，剥夺，生吞活剥 and 剥削.--Echoecho@popupchinese.com
