I think it's important to do input validation, otherwise malicious users can create all sorts of problems, like execute random javascript and redirect users to other pages.

Wow! Dave, this is absolutely what I was looking for. Increase the number of those HSK like exercises. Those really sharpen the sense for details and put you in perspective. Cool stuff.

Actually I changed my username, but that obviously did not have any effect...Cool lessons anyway.

@baars - thanks a lot and glad you like it! can you confirm that clicking to edit your username didn't work on the profile page? This sounds like either a bug or a usability problem. Did you hit "enter" to submit the entry after changing it?

And thanks for the positive feedback. We're experimenting with everything from podcast structure to HSK question types (there are four major ones on the standardized exam) and will be rolling out a variety of different types of content over the next few weeks. Very much a learning experience for us too.

I'm convinced testing is a great way to learn when done right, and the HSK is a good test for learning. It tries to catch you on a lot of small things no-one would ever really bother to correct you on (see 快 versus 锐) as an adjective for knives, but that makes a huge difference in how others perceive your fluency.

OK. My stupidity :)

Feel much better being the casual Henning again.

thought that was you. :) We're publishing a few sample tests each week - the next batch are be coming out tomorrow at the intermediate level.

Will look at tightening the username editing javascript. We should probably be saving the content whenever the field loses focus. There's no submit button, which makes it less than intuitive.

Echo,

实际上连一个语言细胞都没有。。。不过我一根筋地坚持学习。 是我的毛病之一。 ;)
