I was stuck in this yesterday afternoon. The sky was pitch black around 4:00 pm. I was in a taxi and it looked like the end of the world! Cray huh?!?

We're just inside the second ring road, so yeah... it would have been really wet outside. Here's another link with some great photos on China Smack:

I particularly like (but feel badly about liking) the one of the car almost totally submerged on the second ring road. Anyone know if they kept the subway running? The photos show people heading down, but it's hard to imagine they could have kept it from flooding.
