Hello i was just wondering how many episodes per week are published in the basic subscription compared to the free subscription provided through itunes? I really wish to join but as i am a student i can only really afford the basic subscription. However, I am willing to pay more for the hsk tests if something could be arranged as i plan on taking this test in the near future.

Also I believe more people would subscribe to this website if there was information on the number of lessons in the subscription. Hope that helps and I hope you can help me :)

thanks, Jared.

Hi kirkwood23,

We have somewhere around 650 lessons and HSK tests here to date on Popup Chinese, and we usually publish content at least five days a week. You can explore all of the lessons by clicking on the "chinese lessons" tab in the main menu. From that page just click on the name of any lesson level to see all lessons and tests available at that level. Here is the link to all of our Absolute Beginner lessons, for instance:

http://popupchinese.com/lessons/absolute-beginners

What a basic subscription adds is access to all of the text transcripts and supplementary downloads (the fix, pdfs, etc.) along with some extra features that are designed to make it much more convenient to study and review the materials. If you take out a subscription, for instance, rather than use the public lesson feed, you should switch over to your personal lesson feed. In addition to including all of the supplementary files (pdfs, mp3s, etc.) this personal feed gives you full control over the lessons that show up on it. You can bookmark/schedule lessons anytime either by clicking on the "bookmark this lesson" graphic on any lesson page, or by dragging them onto your personal study calendar:

Hope this answers your question. Let us know if you have any problems or if this wasn't clear.

Best,
