Hi David! Just thought I'd blow everyone away with an insanely difficult pinyin title for the post! (cough, cough) Just want to say great website!! It's awesome to see it up and running and it's shaping up quite well. I'll have to drop into China again to catch up and hopefully my Chinese will be so good by then that Da Shan will meet me at the airport to hand over his crown. Keep up the good work and I'll talk to you soon!

Give me a call when you've got your dates set. I've called Da Shan - he's willing to give up Xiang Sheng, but wants to keep the jacket and Olympic gigs.

I suggest you take the offer. It this ends up as a showdown in the new terminal, things could get nasty.

haha! I was pretty surprised when I saw him out there with the Canadian athletes at the opening ceremony. Is he famous at all in Canada?? I thought he just had god status in China?? Da Shan can keep his 相声!!! I want the Jacket and the olympic gigs though! And maybe an endless supply of 羊肉串儿 too! Speaking of food, why can't I buy any proper Chinese food here in Australia? Why is it all Contonese/Westernised food??? I just want to go down the street and buy a massive plate of 鱼香肉丝!! I think MSG is illegal here, so maybe that's why they can't make it here, or if they did it would really taste fish flavoured!! Wouldn't that be terrible?!!

I watched the show in a restaurant on Guijie - it was really sweet to see him get such a positive reaction. Canadian PM was a no-show, so it was a good thing Da Shan was there to give the cameras something to focus on.

MSG rocks. And aren't you guys just a short trip from Sean and Leanne? You should just drop by and refuse to leave until you get some 宫保鸡丁. I can send some MSG from here if you're really desperate, but will label it "white powder", so suggest buying local if possible.

David, I think I'll steer clear of your "white powder" and no I wont be picking it up at an Indonesian Terminal!! you are right on the money about MSG though! Simply put, it does rock! It rocks harder than watching monkeys at the Zoo. I don't care if it inhibits the growth of brain cells because at the end of the day I'm satisfied with a great tasting meal ;)
