I would really appreciate some clarification on sth. Often in English, a subclause can put at the end of the sentence or the beginning of the sentence, and it doesn't matter which way or the other - the correct position depends on the context and feel of a passage of text.

But in Chinese this doesn't seem to be the case (unless I'm mistaken). Conjunction words like 虽然,因为,当。。时,自从,等等, all seem to sound better at the beginning of the sentence.

For example: how would you translate this into Chinese?

"But their performance reflects the dim view of commodities held by investors while other forms of investment – especially equities – outperform."

但是它们的表演反映了投资者对大宗商品的悲观,同时。。

I started translating this sentence as above, but not sure 同时 or 在…期间 would make sense as a subclause in the sentence. It's just one example I am currently working on - but I've come across plenty more before.

I would be very grateful for any help!!! :) :D
