I've just started using Popup Chinese, and I really like the podcasts you have here. However, when I get quizzed on lesson vocabulary, I am often quizzed on vocabulary that I have not learned yet. Why is this? Is there a way I can see what my "lesson vocabulary" is (and, perhaps, which specific lessons the vocabulary comes from)?

Also - At the end of some quizzes, I get this tip:

"use the keyboard shortcuts 1-4 to answer questions without using your mouse. And review more vocab anytime in our study center - See more at: http://popupchinese.com/#sthash.mZoaH5ud.dpuf"

However, when I click the link, I get:

"Error: The requested address '/progress' was not found on this server. - See more at: http://popupchinese.com/progress#sthash.svaGLDxX.dpuf"

This is a bit frustrating, because I can imagine that the "study center" might have some helpful features.

Same here... I don't seem to find a "study center" on the site at all.

For some examples, I was quizzed on the words 巨龙, 姿势, and 聋, which I know I haven't learned yet. Also, when I was quizzed on the pinyin for 聋, I accidentally typed "long4" instead of "long2", and it counted it as correct, anyway. What's up with that?

OK, so what is happening is the review defaults into working through materials using an SRS algorithm. But if it is asked to come up with 5 questions for an automatic review and runs out of material halfway through, it will grab some random content from the lessons we have done with a flailing stab-in-the-dark guess at your appropriate level. It does this because it doesn't want to deliberately interrupt the SRS scheduling of the other words and doesn't have anything else for you.

It is possible to turn off this functionality by disabling the automatic review completely. That said, it isn't really a horrible thing to have random vocab thrust your way every now and then, which is why we have the system working this way. The alternate is either: (1) screwing up the SRS scheduling, or (2) changing the way the popup review works.

That said, I'll look into the pinyin issue with 聋. This problem *will* happen for characters with multiple pronunciations (since we do a sanity check), but in this case it may be that someone added it as a correct entry and it hasn't been reviewed and rejected yet. Not sure until I see what is happening in the database....

Turn off http://popupchinese.com/account/review? Umm, I read the original posting as neither turning _review_ off nor on but rather, does the _progress_ link even exist and if so, what is it and how do I get it? I reported this same trouble, http://PopupChinese.com/progress is 404, in a note to last week, no reply yet. The reply below ignores this same issue, am I missing something?

I wrote a note to <service@...> last week

[some diabolical markup engine mangled my note and there's neither preview nor correction allowed AFAICT, sorry]
