I've just been asked by someone at work for the wording for a sign that says '(please) do not touch' or 'do not move'. I'm completely clueless as to what a correct translation should be. Could someone please help? Huge thanks.

For a more intimidating translation you could go with:如果你触摸我的东西我就杀死你。This is helpful for your 三明治(sandwich) if you have to put it in the fridge at work.
Thank you both! It says much about my increasingly poor Mandarin that I have no problem with 如果你触摸我的东西我就杀死你 but had completely forgotten the 请勿 structure. Time to start studying properly again...
@Kate & craigrut,One little problem with the sentence 如果你触摸我的东西我就杀死你 is 触摸 is very formal, so we can use it in a sign like 请勿触摸, but not in a normal sentence. If we want to make the sentence sound more natural, we should say 如果你摸我的东西我就杀了你.--Echoecho@popupchinese.com
