I have recently signed up for a premium account, I am experiencing trouble with the review mode while studying vocabulary, the review mode adds in all sorts of things that I have not studied and that are not in my vocabulary list. What can a student do with this?

Is there a bugs, technical issues area that I have not found?

Now the review section is not working at all, the popups are often entirely or mostly blank!

For many of the review cards with four options on the right I get a blank left hand side.

@jschroni,

Sorry for the lag in getting to this. I'm just looking into these issues this afternoon, particularly trying to replicate the issue where the left-hand side of the quiz is blank.

Your account settings on this page...

http://popupchinese.com/account/review

... will control what sort of material appears in the popup reviews that show up on lesson pages. If this is set for lesson vocabulary instead of wordlist vocabulary, the system will draw content from any lessons we think you've studied rather than from your wordlist (if you access the review from your study center, it will always focus on wordlist vocabulary rather than lesson vocabulary).

Note: if you download everything from your RSS feed, that could trigger our system to think you've studied lessons that you haven't. If this is happening, just switch your account to wordlist mode.

Thank you very much for the info!

I have tried changing my review settings to wordlist, it is now showing wordlist as my choice but still I am getting other things in my review that I have only briefly looked at or downloaded.

It's interesting that there appears to be no "update" button on the review settings page. I only want to study the wordlist not everything that I've ever looked at, this is rendering the review section as useless to me.

@jschroni,

In case you don't know this already, you should be able to manage your account vocabulary directly from this page:

http://popupchinese.com/vocabulary

When I visit this page I see seven words in your account that you will be tested on using the SRS review feature. So it is possible you've already done this, but if you haven't you can always delete words manually from your account here.

If words that are not in this list are getting suggested can you send me an email with details so I can look into it? The most likely thing I can think of off the top of my head is that there were words which were added mistakenly if you did something like click on a popup and did not mean to. That said, it is entirely possible the issue is something else or a problem with our default behavior -- if you can point out the word I can look in the database for clues about how it was added to your list, or why you are getting tested on it if it isn't in your wordlist.

Best,
