Hi everyone. I've been loving the site, and thank you for the help. One suggestion though, and please, I know nothing about internet promotion or iTunes, so I may be quite wrong.

Had I not first found this site after looking for a character-pinyin converter, and after some weeks decided to see what else was on the site, I'd never have come across Popup Chinese at all. My first thought when looking for Chinese podcasts to put on my iTouch was just to go into iTunes and look there.

Now, searching for "popup chinese" on iTunes, your podcasts are right there, and searching for "chinese podcast" on Google, the site is right up top. Browsing through the iTunes podcast section, however, I'd never have seen you, and the "Language Learning" > "Chinese" section doesn't include you. Even searching for "chinese lesson" under podcasts, they don't come up. Why not promote more on iTunes?

Cheers!

@brshill,

We've written Apple before, but I'm not sure there's much we can do about the problem. We've got the highest-rated Chinese podcast on iTunes and have produced more free lessons than anyone else at this point. And yet Apple hasn't updated its Chinese page on iTunes in years and the company is a black box when it comes to trying to contact the directory editors through support.

That said, it's nice to see that we're finally appearing somewhere on Google! We've been buried in the search engine results for ages as well, so it is encouraging to see a rise in position!

p.s. if you want to help, the easiest thing to do is rate and review our podcast on iTunes. This won't get us listed on the Chinese lessons page, but it might make our podcast more visible to people who just search for "learn chinese" or variations on the phrase. And hopefully in time the good ratings will convince the editorial team we're worth linking to.

It took 2.5 years, but it looks like iTunes has redesigned its Language Learning page and we finally made the cut. I guess we'll see in the next month or so if this makes a difference in helping people find us....

On a related note in the realm of podcast services not adequately supporting you guys, you might want to get in touch with the blubrry people.

All of your podcasts are off by one over there. The link to a podcast actually plays the previous podcast, which is a real bummer because it's keeping me from using my Roku to listen to you guys.
