A giant shuddering sound escaped from deep within the bowels of the great industrial machine. In the pin-drop silence that followed, an ominous hiss could be heard far below the iron gangplanks where the night crew plied their trade, feeding a constant stream of waste into the ovens of the thermal plant, the engineering marvel whose energy output fed the ever-hungry city.

"Sulfur leak," bellowed the shift manager, the panic rising in his voice as he dropped his clipboard mid-check. His cry had barely subsided before the general shock gave way to panic, shift workers jostling over each other in a frenzied rush for the ventilation shaft.

Some days I love this country, and then there are others where my Chinese coworkers drive me up the wall. I wish I could offer a 屁话 to all of the 没办法 I get sometimes. Sadly, saving face is really important so one must resist the temptation.

I think the traditional characters for "to relax" in the pdf generator is incorrect. It is same with "to fart"

@quyen,

谢谢! We wrote 放屁 instead of 放心. It's been fixed. Thanks :)

This is really great, the way you guys effortlessly move from the verb "to fart" to a famous quote from Chinese history. Bravo.

I think 手 in 放手 should read shou3, not shou4

Hi admin,

How can I take course's transcription?

Each time I put on "a customized transcipt..." I get a new link recommending buy the course for seeing.

Could I see it free?
