The admission process had already taken four months. Four months of school tours, and meetings with first the principal and then every fourth grade teacher on payroll. Four months of paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork as Jonathan sat sullenly at home wondering when he would finally be able to go back to school. It had been a long wait, but today, at least, his parents would get an answer to that question.

Any chance of this getting answered? Not sure what the usual response time is, but I thought in the past it has been quicker.

@ qmmayer

Hey sorry for the slow response.

7:34: I believe you meant this sentence: 要具体(ju4 ti3: specific)一些.

Thanks, Grace.

What about the first question? Is it 藏? Something is hiding somewhere?

@qmmayer,

Yes, 藏 means "hidden" or "tucked away", as in 珠宝箱里藏着海盗的宝藏 (The pirate's treasure is hidden in the treasure chest). It wouldn't really be used with that example of your keys unless you actively hid them there though.

There is a library on campus

或者

The campus has a library

Instead of saying there is a coffee cup on the table 桌子上有一杯咖啡 we can say 桌子上放着一杯咖啡。How do we use this 动词+着 logic to the library on campus?

hi user76959,

Most native speakers would just default to 有 in that situation. The verbs in this lessons are more advanced variants of that structure, but 有 is basically the "go-to" default when you want the most straightforward translation of "there is" or "there are".
